About Me
When I was in the eighth grade, I was assigned to write a controversial research paper and debate the topic in my English class. After the assignment was graded, I got it back with a note that I should consider pursuing a career in journalism. That moment motivated me to pursue a Mass Communications degree at Winthrop University.

After graduating with a major in Mass Communications and a minor in Psychology, I shifted my focus to marketing. I've always been passionate about writing, photography and video production, and this career allows me to utilize all of those skills.

One of my primary goals is to hone my skills and become the most well-rounded marketing professional that I can be. My internships in college taught me to communicate with people of all ages and ask the important questions to get a story out. Townsquare Interactive taught me to write for a wide range of people and about a variety of topics. And I can't wait to see what I learn from my next writing opportunity.
Anyone who's worked with me knows that I'm very detail-oriented, hardworking and honest. I always strive to produce content that's accurate, easy to understand and interesting for my readers. My experiences have also taught me the importance of editing my work thoroughly and taking constructive criticism from my peers and superiors alike.

Townsquare Interactive
The following is a collection of sites that I wrote over three and a half years while I was at Townsquare Interactive. Every day, I was able to curate custom content for a wide variety of small business owners across America. SEO optimization was used on most of our websites to help clients achieve first-page rankings on Google, and tones were chosen based on the vibe that the client was going for. During my time as a senior copywriter, these were a few of my favorite sites.

Cleaning Company With a Christian Focus
When your faith is as important to you as it is for this client, you want to showcase it in ever aspect of your life, including your business. That's why I incorporated Biblical scripture that related to cleaning throughout the site for this Christian-owned company.
Local Metal Band
A rising star in the metal world - this local band was making a name for themselves in tours throughout the U.S. and Japan. On their site, I edited and incorporated information that the client wrote for their bio. I also listened to their music and used their song titles in a list to make the Home page stand out.
Remodeling Company From a Galaxy Far, Far Away
When you have the best remodeling company in the galaxy, you want everyone to know it. The business owner for this remodeling company wanted Star Wars references and puns incorporated throughout their content. I had a blast researching Star Wars related quotes and spinning them to relate to interior and exterior remodeling.
Friendly Family Photography Company
A picture is worth 1,000 words, but no one wants to read 1,000 words about a photography company. That's why I came up with fun, family-friendly content that got to the point about why clients should hire this photographer to capture everything from their wedding photos to their family portraits.
Informative Tree Care Company
For some business owners, a website should be informative and to the point. On this site, I focused on telling clients why they should choose this tree care specialist. This included highlighting their process, discussing the benefits of their services and telling property owners when they should hire an expert.
Fútbol Shop for All Your Game-Time Needs
Athletes who work hard and play hard require new equipment to keep playing the game that they love. Luckily, the owner of this retail store sells soccer equipment for athletes of all ages. Friendly language and soccer terminology was used throughout the site to draw in local athletes.
Palmetto Report
During my senior year of college, I wrote for the Palmetto Report which is a student-run, online newspaper at Winthrop University. We focused on timely stories in and around the Rock Hill community and provided multimedia news.

This experience taught me to hone my interviewing, photography, videography, writing and editing skills.
Charlotte hosts annual Winter Jam Christian concert
This is the first article I wrote for the Palmetto Report about Winter Jam's 24th annual concert in the Charlotte Spectrum Center.  Christian music fans waited in front of the doors for hours before being allowed in for a night of music, ministry, and fellowship.  One of my favorite components of this story was the photo gallery I incorporated into it with photos of members of 11 different bands that performed that Jan. 20.
Therapy dogs make their way back to Winthrop University's campus
Winthrop University's Student Activities Office and the Alliance of Therapy Dogs partner every year to bring four-legged friends to campus. Â The dogs help provide stress relief for students and faculty who are tired from long nights doing school work and fast-approaching deadlines.
At least eight students facing academic misconduct charges after brick thefts
Winthrop University's Police Department opens up about the brick thefts that plagued Campus Green and Scholar's Walk during the 2019 Spring semester. Students and faculty express their concerns and confusion about the crimes.
Winthrop student group helps cleanup Catawba River
Winthrop University's Rock Climbing Club partnered with Catawba Nation and the People Are Good Project to clean up the trails around our local river. Students from the university worked for hours to pick up litter on the Catawba Indian Reservation.
In Clover Newsletter
I interned with Public Relations Officer Bryan Dillon in the Clover School District during my Fall 2018 semester. Since Clover no longer had a paper of its own, Dillon wanted to create a local newsletter to showcase what was going on in our school district. I wrote 10 articles throughout the semester that highlighted people of all ages and events that were going on in Clover.
Below are a few of my articles from my time with the school district.
Clover High School's annual Veteran's Day breakfast
CHS hosted a Veteran's Day breakfast where students and vets interacted, ate, and listened to a variety of speakers. Â I really enjoyed playing with the background on this piece because it was meant for a special Veteran's Day edition of the In Clover newsletter.
Past Projects
The Overlooked Crime Robbing the Nation
This article was a piece of long-form investigative journalism for my Mass Communications capstone course. I wrote this piece about white-collar crime in America and how it impacts the public. For this article I interviewed professional sources, conducted research and presented the final product at SOURCE in the final semester of my senior year.
Winthrop University's Own Student Hero
This article was written to highlight the good works of a local student hero for my convergent journalism class. After writing this piece, I sent it to the hero's hometown paper, the Irmo News, and they posted it on their website. It was the first article I had published.
